Early Kindergarten Evaluations
We are now scheduling early Kindergarten enrollment evaluations for fall 2026.
In North Carolina, any child who turns 4 years old by April 16th is eligible for consideration for early Kindergarten entry, and findings from testing administered by a psychologist on or after April 17th of the desired entry year are among the pieces of information used to determine eligibility.
At CPE, we begin these evaluations with a 30-minute parent only intake, completed either virtually or in-person, with one of our psychologists, after we have received and reviewed intake paperwork completed by parents.
The parent only intake is followed by a 2.5 hour in-office appointment, during which, after brief introduction to the child in the waiting room, a WPPSI (ability/IQ test) and appropriate WIAT-4 academic skills subtests are administered one-on-one to the child by the psychologist who conducted the intake. The psychologist then spends approximately 10 minutes scoring the administered tests and then spends 10-15 minutes providing parent feedback regarding the test results.
We then aim to share a written report of the findings within 3 business days of the completion of the testing session. Email or call Marie Dean (see below) to inquire about scheduling.
